Chaseton Alexander born 7-16-2012

It happened on a Monday,,,

Leaving my house that morning I wouldn't have thought I wouldn't be back until Wednesday... I actually left in my pajamas to go get Chase. We had an Ultrasound scheduled that morning at 8:00 am due to a 9cm mass that was found on the wall of my uterus. We found out later that it was just a blood clot. (Thank GOD!)

So around 7:15 am I went to go pick up Chase from the apartment that way we could get coffee before the UltraSound. So I picked him up and off we went to Hastings... We ordered our coffee and relaxed while we waited for them to make it.

I was so sleepy due to itchiness I'd been having for about a month... Around this time I was up fro a very long time because the itching was so bad that I couldn't sleep. Anyways so we got our coffee and we were off to the hospital for the UltraSound.

We got to the hospital and got checked in and were able to get into the exam room pretty quickly. Then we got to see our baby, Chaseton Alexander on the big screen. It was pretty hard to tell what things were but we did find out that he had hair!! We were so pleased with the UltraSound.

After getting the UltraSound we went to Dr. Creel's office for my 37 week appointment which meant only 3 weeks left until baby!! Or so we thought...

So we got into the office and I was called back and I did my urine sample and sat down to let the nurse check my blood pressure... After checking it she says, "Seems a little high, let me check it again." then she checked it again and it showed the same results!!  Then I asked if there was protein found in my urine and she said yes so she got me into the room and I waited for the doctor.

Dr. Creel walked in with his usual busy persona and tested my blood pressure again. After that he told me I needed to go back up to the hospital for more testing and the appointment was over. I walked to the check out desk at Dr. Creel's and they handed me a large envelope  with all of my documents in it and told me to head over to the hospital.

So now I'm back at the hospital and they get me checked into an exam room and take a urine sample and some blood and start checking my blood pressure every 10 minutes. So I'm waiting and waiting and waiting until finally... around noon Dr Creel comes in.

He tells me it was confirmed I had pre eclampsia and that we need to get the baby delivered immediately... My heart stopped. He told me we could either do a ceserian or try and go into labor which could or could not work but would take at least 12 hours. So I talked it over with Chase and we decided to do a ceserian.

They transfered me into a different room and I called my mom and she brought all my and Chaseton's things from home to the hospital and we waited until 5pm for me to go into surgery.

A little while before they took me into surgery they gave me some anti-nausea medicine which had a side effect of anxiety... I FLIPPED SHIT!!! Yelling saying I didn't wanna do this and that I was going to die. I even told Chase not to let them take me as I was being brought out of the room... He was very very worried.

They took me into the surgery room and gave me an epidural and put some oxygen in my nose and brought Chase and mom in. I can very barely remember Chase sitting next to me and holding my hand while free falling by Tom Petty was playing because that's what Dr. Creel liked to listen to during surgery. All I remember is laying there feeling tugging in my lower stomach and then the doctor saying something around the lines of there he is or something and then Chase saying there he is and hearing our little one cry his first cry...

I'm sorry to say I don't recall anything after that happened... :( But although I don't remember anything after that I am so greatful that I was able to remember his first cry!! He is such a sweet boy and I am so thankful for him... He was born 3 weeks early and had no trouble at all!! He is so strong and is super healthy!! I am so proud of the baby that came from me and Chase!! I thank GOD every day for letting me be able to have both Chase and Chaseton in my life!! I love them both very much!!!
